Characteristics of culture

There are the following main features of the culture:

i. Culture is learnt:

The definition is not inherited biologically, but learnt socially a man. it is not an inborn tendency. Culture is also called learnt behaviour.

ii. Culture is social:

There is no such thing as culture in seclusion. Nor is a singular peculiarity. It is result of society. It begins and creates through friendly associations

iii. Culture as shared:

Culture in the humanistic sense, is a common thing. It isn't something that an individual alone can gangs. For instance customs, customs, convictions, thoughts, values and ethics and so on are undeniably shared by individuals of a gathering society.

iv. Culture is Transmissive:

Culture is fit for being communicated from one age to straightaway. Guardians give culture qualities to their youngsters and they thus to their kids, etc.

v. Culture is Consistent and Total:

Culture exists as a consistent interaction. In its authentic development it will in general become total. Culture is a developing entire, which remembers for itself the accomplishment of the over a wide span of time and makes arrangement for the future accomplishments of humankind.

Types of culture

A culture has four aspects, material and non-material culture and ideal real culture. Material culture is related to tangible object made by man. Buildings, furniture, books are the product of material culture. non-material culture is related to the abstract things like emotions, attitudes, ideas, and beliefs which we feel but cannot verify by observation. Thoughts and convictions which we feel yet can't check by perception.

Real culture:

It is that culture which can be seen in our public activity. The culture on which we act upon in our social life is real. the part of culture which people adopt in their social life is their real culture. The entire of the way of life is never genuine on the grounds that a piece of it stays without training.

Ideal Culture:

The culture which is presented as patterns or precedent to the people is called ideal. It is the goal of society. It can never be achieved fully  because some parts of it remains out of practice.  This culture is explains in books, speeches and guidance. 

Material Function:

Material culture consists of man made object such as tools, implements, furniture, buildings, dams, roads, bridges, and infect the physical substance which has been changed and used by man.

Non-material function:

The term function when used in the ordinary sense, means non material culture. It is something interior and characteristically important, mirrors the internal idea of man.
